Applications
This premium Healthcare Metal Clad Cable, available in 12 AWG and 10 AWG sizes with THHN/THWN-2 insulated copper conductors, is engineered for reliable power distribution in hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities. Designed to meet the stringent demands of healthcare applications, this MC cable provides a secure and durable wiring solution for new construction, renovations, and system upgrades. Its robust construction features solid or stranded soft, uncoated copper conductors, ensuring optimal conductivity and long-lasting performance for essential medical equipment and lighting.
A key safety feature of this healthcare electrical wire is its dual grounding system. It includes a green insulated copper ground wire plus an innovative bare aluminum grounding and bonding conductor. This external grounding conductor maintains constant contact with the interlocked aluminum armor, creating a redundant grounding path for superior safety and peace of mind in patient care areas and sensitive environments. This design helps minimize electrical interference, crucial for the accurate operation of diagnostic and life support equipment.
Engineered for 600V applications and rated for 90°C dry conditions, this metal clad electrical cable is suitable for a variety of demanding healthcare settings. The PVC insulation with color-coded nylon covering on the THHN/THWN-2 conductors simplifies circuit identification and installation. The overall interlocked aluminum armor provides excellent physical protection against damage, ensuring system integrity.
Compliance and ease of use are paramount. This healthcare MC cable is manufactured in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 330 and meets UL 1569, UL 83, ASTM B3, B8, B787, ASTM B800, FT4/IEEE 1202, and Federal Specification A-A59544 standards. The armor is clearly marked with sequential footage every two feet, a black line indicating aluminum armor, chevron colors to identify conductor number and color, chevron direction for recommended pulling, cable size, and a distinctive long green stripe designating it as Healthcare MC cable. Choose this reliable, code-compliant, and safe hospital grade MC cable for your next healthcare project to ensure dependable power where it matters most.
Additional Features
Metal-Clad Cable with two-, three- or four-circuit THHN/THWN conductors and a green insulated ground in addition to a bare aluminum grounding/bonding conductor that is cabled on the outside of the separator tape, allowing it to be in constant contact with the armor and to serve as a redundant grounding path. Intended for use in accordance with the National Electrical Code®. Conductor constructions have the insulated conductors cabled together with a separator tape, displaying the identification print legend, wrapped around the assembly. An interlocked aluminum armor is applied over the entire construction.
